Thank you for your support. Ticket sales are now closed!
The Powell River Salmon Society is working towards Salmon Preservation. We have a committed volunteer base that helps us along the way in enhancing pacific salmon. Annually our volunteers contribute over 10,000 hours!
Every year we host a multitude of educational and stewardship events. We believe education around salmon is the key to making the next generation of salmon champions.
The Powell River Salmon Society also runs a full watershed monitoring program. This includes continuous and biweekly sampling of water temperature, pH, salinity, stage height and turbidity.
The society releases over 1.8 million salmon fry on average per year. This helps to maintain a healthy salmon ecosystem, provides recreational and commercial fishing opportunities, and contributes to creating a buffer for stocks of concern. Between three hatchery sites we rear and release chinook, coho, and chum salmon.
Raffle tickets are:
Single Ticket for $10;
3-Ticket Pack for $25

Tickets may be sold and purchased in British Columbia only. Orders will not be accepted via the Internet from anyone outside the Province of British Columbia.

Cause

Pacific Salmon need our help, and we need yours! The Powell River Salmon Society (PRSS) operates on 3 pillars to provide a multi-faceted approach to improving the stakes for Pacific Salmon – Education, Enhancement, and Environment. Annually, the society releases over 1.8 million salmon fry to waterways along the Salish Sea. These releases aid stocks of concern, address ecological and river health, and provide a variety of fishing opportunities.

The PRSS has an ever evolving education program that aims to incorporate the best of hands on and digital education. Events are hosted annually during the fall and spring seasons to coincide with the return of spawning adults and the release of ready to migrate juveniles. Salmoneducation.org hosts a seasonal egg and alevin development livestream and a variety of education modules.

The society also runs an extensive watershed monitoring program and is active in the advocacy and improvement of local rivers and streams.
